The X-Defend Pedal Lock, like all the other pedal locking products, prevents the clutch, brake and throttle pedal from being operated, making a vehicle quite hard to drive!

Unlike all the others, this remains bolted to the floor of the vehicle. When not in use, it folds flat on the floor and seat box, forming the floor of the cab.In this position it can be covered with your usual floor mat.

This means you dont have to store a 20kg lump of metal which could be lethal if it hit you in the event of an RTA or while off roading. It also means that locking is incredibly quick. Just release the catch which holds it against the seat box and slam it against the pedals. A 10mm thick steel claw grabs the brake pedal shaft and ratchets in tight against it. It can be locked in a couple of seconds! To unlock you turn the key which releases the pedal and fold flat on the floor.

The Pedal lock is supplied in tough, corrosion proof 304 Stainless steel and uses formed hinges with a 6mm stainless pin. Stainless is one of the most difficult materials to cut with a disk cutter. It took 4 disks to cut one in half! Like our other products it is supplied with an anti-drill, British Made Lowe & Fletcher RPT Lock.

Very Important Note:

Because not all Defenders are the same and build tolerances are at best acceptable it may be necessary to either relocate the bonnet pull bracket (you can drill out the spot welds and re-attach with pop rivets) or better still replace with the later TD5 type bonnet pull (which we can supply at extra cost). We have discovered that because Land Rover had no set place to fit the early type bracket it sometimes fouls the pedal lock.

Security Gear Stick lock for LT77 Gearboxes (200Tdi & Earlier). Secures vehicle in High range: 5th gear.

The X-Defend Gear stick lock is to fit earlier LT77 & LT85 gearboxes. Although similar in appearance to the 'crook lock' type locks for other vehicles, this is a different animal. It's made from high strength 3.25mm wall CDS Tube (same as Roll Cages) and are fitted with the best quality British made Lowe & Fletcher lock barrels. The locks are hardened, anti-pick and anti drill Radial Pin Tumbler (RPT) type. The locks are a lot more expensive than some of the ones available - but we felt that there is no point in making a security product and fitting a poor quality lock!

Fitting is quick & easy. The two halves use a bayonet arrangement to twist and lock round the gear-stick and transfer lever, securing the vehicle in 3rd or 5th gear, High Range. The kit is supplied with a security nut to prevent the gear stick being unbolted from the gearbox and a lock nut to prevent the transfer lever knob from being pulled off.To lock, you simply engage the bayonets on the two gear sticks, twist the two tubes in opposite directions and push the lock barrel. The tubes will lock in three different length positions to accomodate the variations between one vehicle and another. The lock will only fit if the gear lever is in the factory position. If you have rotated the lever, it may not fit - but it's easy to rotate the lever back to the original position.

If your Reverse Gear is next to 1st gear - this Gear Lock will fit your vehicle. If Reverse is below 5th, you need the R380 Version.

NOTE This will not fit 300Tdi / Td5 / Puma / Tdci vehicles or vehicles with Slickshift kits 

 

X-Column Lock - One thing that is common to virtually all stolen Land Rovers is that the column steering lock has been broken. It is normally broken by removing the lock barrel as this is surprisingly quick - the vehicle can then often be started with a screwdriver!

Our solution is a sleeve for the lock barrel assembly machined out of steel. It is strong enough to prevent the barrel being removed or the end broken off.

The best thing about this solution is it's completely passive - i.e. nothing to lock or unlock. It stays permanently fitted to the vehicle providing 24 hour protection and deterrent value.

Devices similar to this used to be common, but most manufacturers moved to locks which could not be attacked in this way. Good old Land Rover however stuck with technology from the 1970's and are still vulnerable!

The column lock will fit all Defenders LHD or RHD, up to 2014, including Puma / Tdci.

It will fit any 90 110 127 or 130 Left or Right Hand Drive.

One exception is that some Ex Military vehicles do not have a steering lock. While the column Lock will fit - it serves no purpose as there is nothing for it to protect.
